MyRepertoire has two places where you talk to other players: group chats (practice groups you join or create) and piece chats (one open room per piece in the piece database). Both are shared with people you may not know, some of whom may be under 18. These guidelines apply to everything you write, record or send there. They are part of the Terms of Service.

What the community is for

Talking about music: pieces, practice, fingerings, interpretation, progress, encouragement. That is the whole point. Anything that is not that, and especially anything that makes another person unsafe, does not belong here.

Not allowed

Sexual content. No sexual or sexually suggestive text, voice messages, images or requests of any kind, towards anyone.

Child sexual abuse and exploitation (CSAE). Any sexualised depiction of, or sexual interest in, a minor, and any attempt to contact a minor for sexual purposes (grooming: building trust, asking for secrecy, offering gifts, asking for photos, steering the conversation towards sex or towards another app) is strictly prohibited. Such content and behaviour is removed without exception, the account is banned permanently, and the case is reported to the competent authorities.

Bullying, harassment and threats. No insults, intimidation, threats, humiliation, mocking someone’s playing, or targeting a person repeatedly after they asked you to stop.

Hate. No attacks on people because of their origin, religion, gender, sexual orientation, disability, age or anything else they are.

Personal information. Do not share your own or anyone else’s full name, address, school, phone number, e-mail, social media accounts or photos that identify a person, and do not ask others for theirs. The app blocks links and phone numbers in chats for this reason.

Moving the conversation elsewhere. Do not ask others, and in particular anyone who might be under 18, to continue in another app, by video call or in person.

Spam, advertising, impersonation and illegal content. No unsolicited promotion, no pretending to be someone else (including the developer), nothing that infringes copyright or breaks the law.

Keeping minors safe

Before anyone can join a group or a piece chat, the app asks for a date of birth. Under 13 cannot take part in the community at all. Everyone has to read and accept a safety notice, with a more detailed version for anyone under 18, before their first group or chat.

Nobody under 18 can join a group that has only one member, and nobody can join a group whose only member is under 18: a two-person group is a private conversation, and private conversations between an adult and a minor are exactly what we do not offer. Groups need at least two existing members before anyone under 18 can join.

If you are under 18: never share where you live, where you go to school or how to reach you outside the app. If someone makes you uncomfortable, asks you to keep something secret, offers you anything or wants to talk somewhere else, stop replying, block them, report them, and tell a parent or another adult you trust.

If you are an adult: assume that minors read what you write. Keep it about music.

Reporting and blocking

Long-press any message and choose More options. From there you can report the message, report the user (which sends their recent messages for review), or block the user. Blocking hides their messages from you everywhere, stops them from replying to you, and is recorded for review. The other person is not told.

Every report reaches the developer directly and personally, with an immediate notification, and is reviewed within 24 hours. Reports are never visible to the reported person.

Messages are also checked automatically for the violations listed above, and sending is rate limited: a burst of messages, or the same text sent repeatedly, pauses your chat access for one hour (24 hours on repeat). Anything the automatic check flags goes to the same human review; only the most serious categories are hidden immediately while that review is pending, and a message hidden by mistake is restored.

Enforcement

Depending on what happened, a message is removed (a „removed“ placeholder stays visible), or the account is banned from all group and piece chats platform-wide, immediately and without warning for serious violations. Removed messages are not physically deleted: they are retained so that evidence for a report to the authorities is preserved.

Confirmed or suspected child sexual abuse material or grooming is reported to the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children (NCMEC) and to the German law enforcement authorities, as required by law, together with the retained evidence. There are no exceptions to this.
